Yaskawa has added large-capacity models (400 VAC, 22 kW to 55 kW) to the Σ-V lineup. For injection-molding and metal-processing machines, servo drives are steadily replacing hydraulic pressure devices because of market needs for energy savings and cleanliness. At the same time, markets are seeking servo drives with a larger capacity, because the size of molded products has become larger.
After the 2011 Tohoku earthquake in Japan, demand for solar cells and LEDs have rapidly been increasing. These industries are also seeking large-capacity servo drives, because the wire saws used to cut materials for solar cells and LEDs now have to cut materials with greater rigidity.
To accommodate these market needs, Yaskawa developed the large-capacity AC servo drives in the Σ-V series that can make systems more energy-efficient but can still offer high control performance as well as easy-to-use features.

These products comply with the following international standards for use in Europe, North America, and Asia: CE Marking, UL, RoHS Directives, and KC mark.

 

High-performance servomotors optimized for your application

A high-resolution encoder is used to help realize high precision. Two models for different rated speeds (800 min-1, 1500 min-1) are available. Servomotors with an optimal rated speed and torque can be selected from Yaskawa's vast product lineup.

 

Servo amplifiers for energy-saving systems

Power regeneration converters or shared converters can be used with these servo amplifiers, because the converters are separated from the amplifiers. To help systems improve energy efficiency, any unused energy after motor deceleration can be regenerated and used as a power source.

 

High performance and easy-to-use features of Σ-V AC servo drives

With the new advanced autotuning function, the optimal servo adjustments can be made for your system in a short time. The large-capacity AC servo drives also have the following functions: a model follow-up control to shorten positioning time; a vibration suppression to reduce the effects of vibrations of devices; a friction compensation that adapts to load fluctuations; a new tuning-less function ideal for device startup and for applications with large load fluctuations.
