AC Servo Drives Σ-V Series Safety Modules

In response to the heightened demand for machine safety in recent years, new international standards have been established one after another to integrate globally diverse ideas about safety mechanisms and then been standardized. The Σ-V complied with international safety standards as early as April 2007 when it was first released. The Σ-V SERVOPACK was the first standard servo amplifier in Japan that had safety functions (EN954 Category 3, Stop category 0). Our new product, the Σ-V Safety Module, is the first product for AC servo drives made in Japan that provides these four functions(as defined in the international standard IEC61800-5-2) : Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop1 (SS1), Safe Stop2 (SS2), and Safely Limited Speed (SLS). With the Σ-V Safety Module, safety design for mechanical systems can be optimized while retaining basic features of SERVOPACKs. 07/15/2010

AC Servo drives Σ-V Series Indexer Modules

Since the release of the Σ-V series of AC servo drives in April 2007, with outstanding performance, easy startup, and greater expandability, the easy-to-use Σ-V AC servo drives have delivered the highest performance on the market and satisfied customers from more than 5,000 companies. For excellent expandability, the Σ-V lineup now includes the Indexer Module with a programmable positioning function.
The Σ-V series servo drives together with the Indexer Module make it possible to perform a high-level positioning without using a controller. Especially with a PLC or a PC as the host controller, an unbelievably high level of performance can be delivered. 11/18/2009

MOTOMAN-VS50

MOTOMAN-VS50: World's first! New 7-axis robot specifically designed for spot welding

The MOTOMAN-VS50 is designed with 7-axis control for a higher degree of freedom and built-in welding cables and hoses.
With miniaturization of the MOTOMAN-VS50 and the newly developed ultra-small welding gun that can perform as well as or better than a standard spot welding gun, the MOTOMAN-VS50 can work more closely without interference with workpieces or other robots, reach and work in low postures, and easily moves its arm with spot welding gun into very tight areas that were previously inaccessible by conventional robot. Pits and extra space are no longer required to prevent interference.
The MOTOMAN-VS50 improves productivity and makes it possible to construct a high-density and integrated robotic spot-welding system. 12/21/2008

YASKAWA AC Drive A1000

Introducing Yaskawa's Ace Drive: A1000
-Loaded with environmental features and outstanding performance capabilities, A1000 leads the pack.

Yaskawa predicts continued market expansion with the growing need for more energy efficient production in addition to the already present demand for variable-speed drives. Market demands have moved increasingly towards greater energy conservation and even more compact installations. This is evident in the recent employment of synchronous motors to HVAC systems, and for the first time, high performance drives to fan and pump applications. These trends have led to greater demands for inverter drives that are capable of controlling synchronous motors as well as high performance operation and functionality.
In response to the industry, Yaskawa has stepped ahead of the competition by launching the third edition to its 1000 Series, high performance vector control A1000. Referred to as Yaskawa' s "Ace Drive", A1000 handles not only induction motors, but the same drive also runs permanent magnet motors. The 1000 Series product line is loaded with cutting-edge functionality and powerful cost performance to answer market demands. 06/10/2008

MOTOMAN-VA1400

World's first!
New application-specific 7-axis robot for arc welding MOTOMAN-VA1400

The MOTOMAN-VA1400 has achieved improvement of productivity and space-saving in the welding line with a high-density and compact layout of the robotic welding system. A higher degree of freedom with 7-axis control as well as built-in torch and grounding cables make the MOTOMAN-VA1400 the ultimate for high-speed arc welding.
High-performance, high-speed welding of any workpiece regardless of length, width, and shape is now possible because the MOTMAN-VA1400 adjusts its posture to keep its arm in the best position for welding at all times. Plus, extra space is not required to prevent interference. Welding process sequences are now be integrated, so one MOTOMAN-VA1400 can do the work of two conventional robots.
The MOTOMAN-VA1400 improves welding quality and productivity, streamlines the layout of welding equipment, requires half the installation space, and makes it possible to construct a high-density, robotic arc-welding system. 04/09/2008

YASKAWA AC Drive - J1000 Compact V/f Control Drive

Experience the Reliability of Yaskawa's Compact J1000 AC Drive - Now on Sale

For equipment used in industrial systems, high expectations have been placed on general-purpose drives to save energy, and the number of drive-related applications has been increasing.
With the trend to mechanical miniaturization, a strong demand is growing for lower costs and smaller designs of the drive itself. The Yaskawa V1000 series of drives, the first in a new series of drives, became commercially available to fill this need in December 2006. The J1000 series goes one step further with an even compact design and greater savings to be the optimum drives for your industrial needs (available December 21, 2007).
With greater energy savings, Yaskawa's J1000 drives are the ultimate in miniature drives with user-friendly operations and simplified settings. All standard products in the J1000 series are also RoHS-compliant. 12/21/2007

MOTOMAN-EA1800N

Five Times Larger for its Payload! Optimum Robot for Arc Welding MOTOMAN-EA1800N

The MOTOMAN-EA1800N has a 15-kg payload, which is five times larger than the 3-kg payload of conventional robots for arc welding. With a 15% increase in the motion speed of the turning axis, the EA1800N's major axis (turning, lower arm, and upper arm) have the fastest motion speed in its class. As a result, the air cut time in welding can be reduced by 10% (compared with Yaskawa's conventional models).
With a maximum reach of 1807 mm when the upper and lower arms are extended, the EA1800N has the longest reach in its class. And it also has the widest motion range of the major axes in the class.
With the torch cables built into the upper arm of the robot, interference with workpieces, jig or other peripheral devices are eliminated and the feeding of welding wire is stabilized, resulting in the optimal design for arc welding.
Since a water-cooled torch, a servo torch, and a large-sized special torch are capable of built-in, this new robot can be easily applied to different types of arc welding. 09/20/2007
